Hot Cocoa Mix
Lower sugar hot cocoa mix means you can sweeten and flavour your cheeky hot chocolate any way you want without sending the sugar level of your drink absolutely through the roof. Nice as-is too.
- 120 g confectioners icing sugar
- 100 g cocoa powder
- 400 g milk powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cornstarch corn flour
Pulse the confectioners sugar, salt, corn flour and cocoa powder in a food processor.
If the milk powder isn’t fine texture, blitz it too.
Shake it up all in a big container (currently I’m using an old massive costco sized peanut butter jar).
Shake before making each batch of cocoa.
To prepare an average sized mug of cocoa:
- 4-6 teaspoons/~20g of cocoa mix
- hot water and a splash of milk or... all hot milk
- add your flavours, sweeteners, mix-ins, what have you and go
I like to add a splash of hot liquid, stir to dissolve the mix, then fill the mug.
